We are a mobile onsite pathology lab that specializes in Frozen Section Services to individual doctors, group practices and Surgical Centers with on-site reporting of diagnosis and margin evaluation.
Mohs Surgeons are also aided by our Pathologists in the evaluation of complex or less common tumor removal and by back-up for equipment and Histotechian support and coverage Company Profile
Surgical Pathology Laboratories is Florida's largest provider of frozen section coverage for surgery centers and doctor's offices. CLIA and Florida licensed, Surgical Pathology is proud to be a College of American Pathologists accredited laboratory. We have been providing frozen section coverage for 10 years. On-site and mobile laboratory units are utilized.
We outgrew our previous laboratory space and have just recently moved into our new lab. It will be the first LEED certified solar powered private lab, in Pinellas County, Florida.
Surgical Pathology Laboratories has participated in the training of histotechnologists, Mohs surgeons and medical students. Our staff of ASCP certified histotechnologists have helped train Mohs technicians and offered back-up services for those offices. We also provide QC and slide review as well as diagnosis and retention of tissues for more poorly differentiated squamous cell carcinoma, soft tissue tumors, among others for Mohs surgeons. For those surgeons unable to retain tissue as we do for 10 years, we also provide this service.
Surgical Pathology Laboratories also provides slide preparation for individual doctors, clinics and medical examiner offices. Our staff is well qualified and turns out an outstanding product.

Dr. Jeffrey Bulson
A qualified board certified general pathologist born in
Michigan, medical training in Iowa, Michigan and Florida.
After pathology residency worked in Pennsylvania and then
Florida where he has lived the last 23 years working at
local hospitals and for Life Link of Florida.
In 1998 Dr. Bulson opened Surgical Pathology Laboratories in
Pinellas Park, Florida. It has become the largest provider
of frozen section coverage for surgery centers, clinics and
doctor's offices in Florida, on site and using mobile
laboratory units. CLIA and Florida licensed, Surgical
Pathology Laboratory is accredited by the College of
American Pathologists.
Dr. Bulson is a member and fellow of County, State and
National medical associations including AOA, AMA, American
Society of Clinical Pathologists and the College of American
Pathologists. He has most recently completed his second term
as president of the American Osteopathic College of
Pathologists.
Surgical Pathology Laboratories is on track to be the first
LEED certified independent laboratory in Florida. This
contemporary facility, dedicated in 201, is an "employee and
environment friendly facility". It has already attracted new
employees to our community. and its design and construction
are a major source of career satisfaction.
